Window Cleaning Methods

Brothers uses two methods to clean windows depending on the job and customer preference. The Traditional method “hand cleaning” utilizes soap and squeegees. The second method used is a water purification system. This is a four filter purification system that contains sediment, carbon, reverse osmosis and finally de-ionization filters. Once it is filtered this pure water attacks the dirt and grime via a “Water-fed pole”. It uses soft bristles to ensure our customers’ glass is well taken care of. Since our system does not use soap or chemicals the final results with pure water is a perfectly clean window with no squeegee marks or streaks. These systems have become the industry standard.

Why Should I Clean My Windows?

In a continuing effort to maintain our homes, we often tend to overlook our windows. At Brothers Windows, we believe that regular cleaning of the windows, sills, tracks, and screens prolongs the life of your windows. It also contributes to the beauty of your home and helps keep the neighborhood looking first-rate. When you receive an estimate for window cleaning the following items are included:

  • Window
  • Tracks
  • Sills
  • Frames
  • Screens
Screens

Because of allergies, it is often necessary to keep your windows closed, thus eliminating the need for screens. Having screens make it necessary for rain water to pass through, before coming into contact with the windows. This increases the chance of spotting the newly cleaned glass. Additionally, debris between your screens and windows can create water build up on the sills, allowing the possibility of mold and dry rot damage to your home. Removing the screens is aesthetically pleasing, presenting supreme curb appeal. If you don’t use the screens, we advise taking them out.

How Often Should I Clean My Windows?

Brothers Windows believes this is a matter of personal preference. For clean windows year round we suggest cleaning inside once a year and outside twice a year.

What if it rains?

Under most circumstances we do not reschedule jobs for a chance of rain since our weather is very unpredictable. Rain doesn’t affect windows the same way as it affects vehicles after cleaning and driving on a wet road. However, Brothers does have a rain guarantee and will come back to touch up any windows within a few days after cleaning if needed. Many times we are able to clean the inside windows and come back for the outside windows within a couple of days.
